How did your Wade College education help prepare you for what you do today?

Wade College‘s focus on design and business helped mold me into a well-rounded employee who not only understands design aesthetics, but also how it affects business needs. Having professors who worked in the industry made all the difference. The industry-focused curriculum helped me become a successful student and now an employee. Professors like Mr.Conte & Mr. Rix helped mold me into the professional that I am today.

What opportunities, decisions, and events have shaped your professional life?

Internships, no matter how small or large, are opportunities that I jumped at when they were presented to me. I always followed through because I knew that the person who referred me has a reputation to uphold. I had up’s and down’s in my career, but I once I knew where my passion was, I wouldn’t settle for just any job. Along the way, I also figured out the types of people I preferred to work for. Building a career is hard work in this day and age. I am glad that I was presented with the wonderful opportunity I currently have and receives the respect that is deserved.

What advice do you have for students beginning their careers in your profession?

Stay true to yourself and your dreams. It is okay to start low and work your way up the skills you gain along the way are more valuable than a title right out of college. Use every opportunity as a learning experience and always stay up-to-date as the industry evolves constantly. Always follow through and never burn a bridge.
