What do you enjoy most about your field?

The Interior Design industry in DFW is a really close community, and the variety of career path options makes the possibilities endless for each individual’s chosen path. Every project and client is different, so you’re always able to learn and experience something new!

How did your education at Wade College help prepare you for what you are doing today?

My education at Wade College prepared me for my career, by providing practicing professors to learn from and network with throughout my time as a student. I graduated with a range of professionals to lean on for mentoring and support.

What advice do you have for students interested in your field?

Your education is a product of the effort you put in, and if you give your best efforts with your projects, you will see the greatest payoff.

What opportunities, decisions, or events shaped your professional life?

Networking opportunities have continued to shape my career path. From day one I always prioritized meeting practicing professionals and maintaining my relationships with those people. It led to career opportunities, fantastic mentors, and lifelong friends along the way!

What are some of your proudest accomplishments?

One of my proudest accomplishments was my FIRST project that reached completion. After nearly 3 years of design and construction, walking the completed project was everything I expected and more!

Another one of my greatest accomplishments has been my return to Wade College as a professor. I enjoy continuing the legacy that my professors started, and being able to mentor students, leading them toward a successful career in the Interior Design industry.

Anything else that you would like to add?

My motto always has been, and always will be…. Network! Network! Network!
