What inspired you to pursue your degree and major?
I’ve had a passion for Design since I obtained my Fashion Design Degree in 2009 from another Institution and after being a Visual Merchandiser for 20 Years, I decided I enjoyed Home Decor just as much as Fashion and started to decorate homes in 2021!
What is your career goal?
My goal is to build my design firm up to service individuals looking to curate a space that infuses more joy into their lives!
How is Wade helping you to pursue your career goals?
Wade is teaching me all of the industry specifics I need to grow and develop myself into a successful Interior Designer.
What are some of your most memorable moments so far while a student at Wade College?
The most positive and continuous moments for me here are how open and available the Interior Design professors make themselves to answer any questions I may have or even share their own experiences and knowledge that can help me on my journey.
What has been your favorite class so far? Why?
My favorite class is AUTOCAD I!! It is extremely challenging and it pushes me to advance my capabilities. By far, one of the hardest but most rewarding classes.
What do you enjoy most about your Wade College experience?
The people! The staff is so helpful and kind, which is extremely important for someone who is new to their major.
What advice would you give to a brand-new student?
Utilize your resources! If a professor offers free tutoring, take it! If you need help finding a job or touching up your resume, book a meeting with the career advisor! The help is there but you have to ask for it! And PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
What do you love about Wade College most?
Your ability to be as creative as you want to be! There are no limits and I love that the professors embrace that.
What do you think makes Wade College different than other colleges and universities?
It’s a smaller and more intimate environment. It allows you to connect with the staff and classmates on a different level!
Anything else you'd like to share?
Thank you all for being so great! Makes the decision to come back to school after 15 years of not being enrolled in a school environment that much easier!
