Hope Raymond: Interior Design '22 - Have an Edge

Hope Raymond

AA Interior Design '22

Assistant Project Manager at Waco ISD

What do you enjoy most about your job or field?

I have a really good team and I learn more every week.

How did education at Wade College help prepare you for what you are doing today?

Learning how to read and make plans in Revit and SketchUp has really helped me update the district files and give my team an edge working with the designers and contractors.

What advice do you have for students interested in your field?

Keep up to date on technology and trends in the field, particularly economically and environmentally friendly innovations.

How did you get to where you are at now?

Make friends with everyone even remotely related to your field. That's how you know about job opportunities as well as developments in the industry.

Tell us more about your work.

I work closely with Architects, Interior Designers, and Contractors to make sure the School Districts needs are being met with the new school builds and renovations.

What opportunities, decisions, or events shaped your professional life?

Everything. You can apply skills you learn from any job to something you want to do in the future.

What are some of your proudest accomplishments?

I have been working for the School District for the past 9 months. Last month, the Superintendent nominated me for special recognition on my work ethic. It was very rewarding not just to be noticed for my hard work but by someone so high up. I cried.
