What do you enjoy most about your field?
What I enjoy most about my job and field is the ability to create functional spaces that reflect the client's style as well as altering the way they dwell and interact within their home.
How did education at Wade College help prepare you for what you are doing today?
The intensity of Wade College classes highly prepares you for real work environments. By having professors who work in the field, I constantly received real world advice that has helped me navigate the industry. I still find myself reaching for textbooks to answer questions or review things. Wade College offers so many opportunities for all students via career connections, guest speakers, and field trips!
What advice do you have for students interested in your field and recent graduates?
Be open to constantly learning and evolving as a designer. The field is ever changing. Understand the importance of your processes. Stay involved in the design community. These connections are vital! Clients will invest and rely on you as the designer in many ways from the beginning to the end of a project. So, remember to focus on building a trusting and transparent relationship with them. This always leads to a successful project.
