What inspired you to pursue your degree and major?
What inspired me to pursue my degree was my family. The prayers, encouragement, and support I received from my mother and sisters led me to return to college.
What is your career goal?
The career goal/quote I like to live by is “Choose a job you love; you will never have to work a day in your life.” - Confucius
How is Wade helping you to pursue your career goals?
Wade has become a very special place to me that has given me the confidence to walk into any career field with the professional skills that I would need to be successful. All faculty and staff members are very supportive, knowledgeable in the field they are teaching, and believe in every student here. I’m so grateful to be here.
What are some of your most memorable moments so far while a student at Wade College?
One of my favorite memories so far was when we had our winter holiday Bizarre Bazaar. Many students came out and sold handcrafted items, we had hot cocoa, holiday stations, and treats. It was nice seeing my peers, friends, and staff come together for the holidays.
What has been your favorite class so far? Why?
My favorite class so far has been Psychology. Professor Tara Valure is so passionate about the subject of Psychology, that each time I went to class, I was excited to learn more about all the topics and videos she shared with us. She is such an amazing woman and professor!
What do you enjoy most about your Wade College experience?
I’ve enjoyed getting a chance to hear from the guest speakers who have been invited to Wade. The guest speakers allow me to know what is happening in the industry and give me an opportunity to create professional relationships.
What advice would you give to a brand-new student?
I would tell all new students to make sure they have a personal self-care routine while being at Wade. Check out the Wellness Teams group of helpful posts and updates, go exercise, and make sure you have a healthy diet. School can be very exhausting and difficult for you if your mental/physical health is being neglected.
What do you love the most about Wade College?
I love that we have such a great group of faculty and staff who always share opportunities every trimester during our Wade College Student Association Kick-off meetings. I’m always excited to hear about what industry professionals, student-led workshops, and guest speakers we will be having for the term.
What do you think makes Wade College different than other colleges and universities?
I think what makes Wade College so unique is that we have a very diverse student body from first-year students to many adult learners. Even though we are all at vastly different places in our academic careers, the single goal we all share as a student body is the desire for a better future in our lives. We establish a network with each other, the faculty, and the community, and then Wade College sets us up with opportunities and gives us all the support we need. This to me is what being WadeMade is about, student diversity.
