Zechariah LeShay: Fashion Design '24 - Enjoying the Process

Zechariah LeShay

Associate of Arts in Fashion Design & Product Development '24

What inspired you to pursue your degree and major?

What inspired me to pursue a career in fashion was my sense of style and creativity within clothing. I also see this as my form of art & expression!

What is your career goal?

My career goal is to have a successful luxury streetwear brand. I would also like to be a creative director for a brand like Coogi or Ed Hardy. Any brand that I can make relevant again. Another goal of mine is to mentor kids that also have the same passion as me and help them get there quicker than I did.

How is Wade helping you to pursue your career goals?

Wade has helped me tremendously and I’m grateful to be here. From working shows to having great connections with people already in the industry. Wade has been a lot of help during my journey here.

What are some of your most memorable moments so far while a student at Wade College?

My most memorable moment was being able to get an internship with one of the smartest & creative designers in the industry. Also being around people at Wade.

What has been your favorite class so far?

So far my favorite class has been Fashion Sketch because it has challenged me to grow in areas I THOUGHT I was decent at. I’ve been learning so much about my style & how I see clothes on other people just from sketching.

What advice would you give to a brand-new student?

The best advice I could give to a new student is to keep God first in everything you do. Enjoy the process of being on this journey & don’t let being in school stop you from taking steps sooner to advance your career (whenever you’re ready of course).

What do you love about Wade College most?

What I love most about Wade is the people you’re around while being at school & how everyone (staff or student) wants you to grow to your full potential and they help you do it.

What do you think makes Wade College different than other colleges and universities?

What I think makes Wade different from any other college is how genuine everyone is & how they help put you in the right position to succeed.
